About Phoenix & Lyon

Joan Lyon is a retired Midwestern school teacher addicted to old noir movies and modern true-crime podcasts living in South Florida with her massive Maine Coon, Marlowe.

Phoenix "Nixy" White made a mistake that put an innocent woman behind bars, and ended her burgeoning career as a short-form true crime content creator before it ever really got going.

Now they both live in the same small village while Nixy takes care of her octogenarian aunt, and Joan tends her plants and attends the various social shenanigans available in those sorts of places.

It's "Golden Girls" meets "Murder, She Wrote" by way of "Hacks" when a tragic death in a next-door rental mansion becomes Joan's new obsession and a case Nixy can't ignore.

But since that's a full-course worth of story, what I'm serving up here is an amuse bouche, as the two women end up hanging a private investigation shingle after their adventure, and there's all sorts of fun snippets to share once they do.
